Tunecore has just added Spotify support, according to details confirmed to Digital Music News on Wednesday.  The extra distribution point is part of an aggressive network expansion, one that most recently involved MediaNet Digital.  In terms of pace, Tunecore is now pledging to add a fresh store every month.

Of course, Spotify has no presence – yet – in the US, though artists are free to distribute themselves into the European footprint.  But, unlike relatively quick deliveries to places like iTunes, a Spotify upload can take up to four weeks (just like eMusic and AmieStreet).  On the far end, Amazon On Demand takes between 6-8 weeks, though TuneCore may be padding the timetable to manage expectations and support calls.

Direct-to-fan distribution is a crowded space, though additions like these are keeping Tunecore very competitive.  The Spotify add-on also follows recent deals involving MOG, Zune, iLike, MySpace Music and Thumbplay.
