MONDAY MOTIVATION: Mastering The Art Of Collaboration

By  |  4 Comments

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

I’m an idea man. That’s my gift. I can come up with great ideas at lightning speed. It’s nothing for me. MAKING the idea happen is where the challenge comes in. Though I’m a proactive person, I still cant do everything. I need people who can do what I can’t.

Whether you’re an artist, entrepreneur or professionals you have to work with other people to get things to happen. Mastering the art of collaboration is key. Many of us don’t understand that we are more powerful together than we are apart.

So why don’t we work well with one another? Many reasons.. Of all the reasons, there’s none more menacing than “The Ego” (insert dramatic music here). Our ego makes us think that we know everything. It makes us want all the praise for ourselves. It also protects us from being let down by other people.

People do what they do with the hope of being acknowledged. Acknowledgement comes in many forms. Money, Flattery. Gratitude. Reciprocity. Results. Offers from other people to contribute and collaborate. Once people let us down, we make an agreement not to depend on others. Instead of holding them accountable, we cut them off instead. That’s is all ego. It doesn’t help. It protects you from the pain of disappointment, but it doesn’t help the idea from happening. One guide to protecting yourself from the dreaded ego is to LET THE TASK BE THE BOSS.

An additional issue is really that video gaming became one of the all-time largest forms of recreation for people of every age group. Kids enjoy video games, and adults do, too. The particular XBox 360 is probably the favorite games systems for people who love to have hundreds of activities available to them, and who like to play live with other individuals all over the world. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
