MONDAY MOTIVATION: Don’t Apologize For Your Greatness

Don’t Apologize For Your Greatness “Hate it or love it, the underdog’s on top and I’m gon shine, until my heart stop. Go ahead and envy me.” ~ Fifty Cent

We all want to belong. We all want to be accepted. However, some of us are in relationships with people who can’t control their envy. Co-workers “be hatin on the low”. You hear your friends in school saying “Oh you think you all that?” It’s kinda uncomfortable to be praised and see the green in the eyes of friends and family. So, to fit in, and not make other people feel bad, you dumb down.

Hey, you have put in the work. You have been blessed with talent. So, you deserve to be acknowledged for who you are. You are a star. Your work, performance, style, presence, is stellar. It is what it is. It’s not your fault that you’re brilliant. The sun doesn’t dim because it hurts people’s eyes. Why should you?

In the words of Nelson Mandela “there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others don’t feel in secure around you…when you shine your light you give others permission to do the same.”
