MONDAY MOTIVATION: Seek Inspiration!

By  |  0 Comments

We are six months in now… The year is almost 50% done. Many new year resolutions are forgotten by now. 12-month visions have become distorted. Many people lose the fight because they lose hope half way.

They lose the motivation. Fatigue sets in, distraction begins to dominate and all of your mental faculties just want a vacation. How do you get your energy back to a place of focus and power? How do you awaken your mind to what is possible? The answer is, seek inspiration. In the Webster’s, dictionary inspiration means to ‘breathe into’. Meaning that when you are uninspired, it’s like walking around as a dead person. We can all remember being somewhere, seeing something and experiencing a new surge of energy that makes us motivated to go and do something.

We all should have a location or activity that will rejuvenate our spirit. For me, when I go to church or the gym, I leave amped and ready to take on the world. We all should have a library of of books, movies, and images that motivate us. You can’t watch the film 300, or read The Pursuit of Happyness or see a picture of Oprah and not feel that All Things Are Possible.

We should also surround ourselves with individuals that push us to accomplish our goals. In every sport there are coaches, trainers, senseis and team members who motivate the athlete to get back out there and push past their limits. The same is true for our lives, businesses and careers. Make it a daily ritual to seek out inspiring people, things and places that motivate us to keep going.
