The Warner Music Group Digital Strategy and Business Development team is responsible for the company’s global strategic initiatives in online sales, mobile, and emerging digital exploitation of recorded music. The team evaluates and implements business models in the digital entertainment marketplace and selects strategies which help to sustain WMG’s growth in this area.
Detailed Job Description:
Support overall strategy and business development operations for Warner Music Group.
Oversee global business development deal queue with specific responsibility for deal summary documentation and associated materials.
Provide financial modeling and analysis to evaluate various revenue and profitability implications of new deals.
Identifying emerging technologies and trends that will contribute to the Company’s digital revenues while analyzing these new potential channels and revenue generating initiatives.
This position plays an integral part in each of these areas, with a focus on analysis and strategy, deal negotiation and execution.
Responsible for conducting a wide range of analyses – from financial modeling to deal scenario modeling – in support of strategic initiatives and deal negotiations.
Responsible for preparing deal analyses and financial performance updates around WMG’s global digital business for meetings with WMG Sr. Management.
Analyze and develop new business models for existing and new digital music-based content products.
Conceptualize, develop and communicate business strategies for new initiatives.
Formulate and create presentations to provide recommendations to Sr. Management on strategic issues ranging from industry challenges to new initiatives.
Collaborate with international affiliates, WMG Legal and Business Development to assess and obtain approval for new partner deals that conform to the key tenets of WMG’s digital strategy.
Facilitate the deal approval process by assisting in the drafting of fully-vetted deal summaries, providing deal analysis and socializing the deal internally prior to the weekly Deal Approval Meetings.
Meet with new potential product partners and present propositions to Business Development team.
Advanced skill in financial modeling using MS Excel
Proficiency in MS Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects
Comfortable dealing with highly confidential/sensitive material
2+ years at a top-tier management consultancy, investment bank or in a media/technology strategy position
