Iggy Azalea Tops Billboard Charts and Makes History

Iggy Azalea’s album The New Classic is having a slow rise to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, but her singles “Fancy” and “Problem” with Ariana Grande are making waves on the charts.

This week Iggy made history as the first female emcee since Lauryn Hill to score a No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and she is the second act in history to claim both the No. 1 and No.2 spots on the singles chart simultaneously. The only other act to hold the No. 1 and No. 2 spots is the legendary group, The Beatles.

Although this is a major victory for Iggy Azalea, critics are wondering if she’s the real deal or just another rapper using their ethnicity to their advantage while appropriating hip hop culture to make a buck. Take a look and listen to “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX and her feature on Ariana Grande’s “Problem” and you be the judge.

Whether you love it or hate it, Iggy is marking her place in music history, now it’s just time to see where she goes from here.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally
off topic but I had to tell someone!
