Former Microsoft CEO Buys the Los Angeles Clippers

It looks as though the LA Clippers are finally out of the hands of the Sterling family and now in the hands of ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

If you recall, in May, Steve Ballmer was set to buy the Clippers for $2 billion from Donald Sterling’s wife, Shelly, but Mr. Sterling tried to block the deal in the midst of controversy surrounding the former owner and racist remarks that he allegedly made.

The team, is extremely happy to welcome Ballmer to the franchise, and he is happy to be a part of the Clipper family saying the following in a statement:

“I will be hard core in giving the team, our great coach, staff and players the support they need to do their best work on the court. And we will do whatever necessary to provide our fans and their families with the best game-night experience in the NBA.”
