Before the entire Divergent and Hunger Games franchises are complete in theaters, their deals have been made to bring them to TV.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, every film in the Hunger Games franchise will debut on TNT starting in winter 2015 up until winter 2018.

When it comes to Divergent, after just one successful film, TNT has acquired the rights to all four films (three upcoming) in the franchise to be played on their network in the coming years. Lionsgate President of Worldwide Television and Digital Distribution, Jim Packer said the following:

“The agreement underscores the breadth and depth of our content portfolio and supplies TNT with blockbuster franchises that will resonate with their audiences for many years to come.”

With major moves like this being played on basic cable it’s clear that the industry is changing right before our eyes.
