The Parents Television Council Isn’t Happy With the VMAs

After last year’s VMAs showed a scantily clad Miley Cyrus grinding on a then married Robin Thicke, the Parents Television Council made it clear to MTV that they wanted a cleaner show this year. A cleaner show is what they got, but now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the council is upset with the messaging that some female artists are sending viewers.

PTC president, Tim Winter said the following in reference to some of the performances last night:

“It is perplexing that a performance would include, on the one hand, strong, positive written messages above the stage about honoring and respecting young women and ending gender-based double-standards, while on the other hand the female performers are on stripper poles with backup dancers in flesh-toned bikinis, and with female backup dancers wearing next to nothing while the male performers are mostly clothed.”

It can be safely assumed that he’s referring to Beyonce’s performance as well as some moments from the Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj performance mash-up.

The bottom line is that you can’t please everybody and that MTV and the VMAs are known to push the envelop and music and pop culture, so it’s unlikely that it will be toned down anymore in the coming years.

nice thougts on the maikng:You used Cloner radial with Random Eff. and Attractor on the lamps.I think you changed the mass point of the lamps for the specific behaviour going up one side first. And you syncronized the strength of the attractor and the light material to the sound with the sound effector and used therefore expresso.
