XXL Magazine To Be Digital Only

After 17 years at the top of their game, XXL Magazine is folding and will hold a presence in media that’s now going to be exclusively online.

Just two weeks after VIBE Magazine folded again and went completely digital, XXL has been acquired by Townsquare Media and will cease print issues after the Oct/Nov release of the magazine.

Townsquare Magazine has also acquired men’s lifestyle magazines Antenna and King Magazine for digital. Although King Magazine has been out of production for five years, the brand will be relaunched on digital only.

Ben Harris, the president of Harris Publications said the following:

“We incubated something digitally, but the Townsquare people can take it to the next level with their digital expertise.”

Will XXL work without a print component? Only time will tell.
